[Rotary] Events at Rotary Mendocino

Dear Friends,
To elaborate on Toby's message below, there will be no ceremony at the park tonight, and not much work to do. I plan to go around 4:30, while it is still light, to place lights on the fence, and will then turn on all the lights as soon as it is dark, to be sure they all work. 
No need to be there, unless you just want to see the lights turned on. 
I will bring brandy.

  Dear Friends in Rotary:
With a sad note acknowledging JP’s passing, several of his have been in touch asking what might be a proper tribute to John.  As a beginning, we are postponing the formal Rotary Park Christmas Tree for a week.   The tree will be lighted tomorrow at 5:00PM and those of you who planned to attend are welcome. 
On Friday, December 17, 2021 at 5:00PM the special lighting of the tree ceremony with a more formal celebration of John Porter’s life and his major impact on Rotary Mendocino.  Several of John’s friends are out of town tomorrow and want to be part of the event.  Any thoughts of how we might properly remember John at this dedication are welcome, so please share them.  
As an added note, Jeff Stubbs’ Clothing Drive will be extended to the above event.  Dig deep to bring clothes that would make Mr. Porter proud of our efforts!
