John/Jeff –
I hope this email finds you both well!
I wanted to share with you that we are doing a Clean the Shelter event at the Humane Society this coming Saturday, September 22 starting at 10 a.m.
I have about 20 Rotarians and spouses signed up to help so far and wanted to extend the offer to Mendocino Rotary if anyone from the club wants to come out and help! We could use more laborers so we can complete the long list of tasks we wish to complete!
See my email below with details and if anyone wants to help they can send me an email and I will get them slotted in.
Savings Bank of Mendocino County will be there grillin’ lunch for all the volunteers.
Should be lots of fun!
Talk to you soon.
Mindy

Good Evening Everyone!
First of all… I am really looking forward to seeing so many of you at tomorrow evening’s Debunking Drive In Event! It’s going to be a great time and going to be so wonderful to see your smiling faces that I miss so much!
I am reaching out to our members this evening as I am in the middle of planning a Rotary Clean Up Day at the Humane Society and need to get an idea of how many of you will be available and interested in participating and also what your level of activity and/or expertise is.
We are targeting Saturday September 26 starting at 10 a.m. at the Humane Society. Please continue reading this entire email :)
Here is my Wishlist of projects we will accomplish during our clean-up day.
- Build a 50’ fence
- Replace some of the lattice pieces around the shelter
- Fill a trailer for a dump run
- Haul Away Redwood Rounds that are piled in one of the pins
- Yard Maintenance
- Fill Pot Holes in the pins with dirt so we don’t get broken bones
- Fix a couple gates by replacing hardware
It’s a BIG list, I realize. Which is why I am reaching out now for participation commitments so that I can make sure we have the workforce necessary to complete these tasks.
So please reply to my email answering the following questions. If you cannot make it or do not feel comfortable participating, please just send your regrets. I completely understand.
- Will you be participating in our Clean the Shelter Day?
- If yes, will it be just you joining or will you be bringing your Significant Other?
- Do you know much about building a fence or do you feel comfortable building a fence with the guidance of a contractor?
- Would you be interested in/are you able to do yard maintenance? IE. Mowing Lawn, Weed Eating/Pulling Weeds, Sweeping Walkways?
- Are you able to/willing to haul dirt around to fill potholes in the play yards?
- Are you Interested in walking the animals?
- Are you able/willing to do handy-man work (help replace hardware on gates, replace lattice, etc)?
Please also answer for your significant others if they are joining us!
I would appreciate responses from EVERYONE no later than Sept 16 at 5 p.m. so that I can ensure our plan comes together. Again, if you can’t make it or don’t feel comfortable just send your regrets.
Thank you in advance and see you all soon!
Your President, Mindy.
