[Rotary] Sherwood Oaks Support

A number of you have asked how you might show your support to the hard
working staff of Sherwood Oaks, who daily put love into their work and
their lives on the line.  Several nurses are living in isolation in order
to protect their families and the community at large.  Gifts of wholesome
food would be most welcome and helpful.  A balanced diet is a necessity,
particularly in times of stress.

Starting Monday I will be collecting shopping lists and food preferences
from those employees living in isolation.  Some requests will be for
non-perishable or easy to prepare groceries, some will be for restaurant
meals to be delivered.  The need is certain to go on for several weeks.

We now have severe restrictions on what can be brought into Sherwood Oaks.
Please contact me or a staff member before taking any donations directly to
Sherwood Oaks.

I really need a person to take the lead on making phone calls to match
donors to recipients, and to schedule pickup and delivery.  Other persons
could be drivers.  No personal contacts will be necessary, just place the
package on the doorstep, step back and stay long enough to make sure they
get it.  Home cooked meals are terrific of course, and packaged deli or
restaurant meals are good too.  Any cash donations will be spent 100% on
food.

contributing.  Help me spread the word.  Group leaders please forward this
to your membership.
