John,You are so correct in that ventilation and indoor air quality are very important for our health. I was previously in the HVAC industry for about 15 years and was always amazed at how people would ignore recommendations on this topic. From tract homes, to multi-million dollar homes, to schools and retail centers this issue should be a high priority for all of our sakes.Ray AlarconAlarcon Ins AgencyPO Box 2539Mendocino, CA 95460707-937-5050CA Lic#0B68172

We still do not have access to adequate rapid testing, but that is a state and national problem not likely to be solved soon, certainly not soon enough to stop another national surge when kids go back to school, and we all start keeping our windows closed.Ventilation has been known to be of paramount importance since at least the mid 1800's, even before we knew of germs. It was incorporated into most buildings designed prior to the 1950's. Observant persons like Ben Franklin insisted on keeping windows open even in winter, much to the irritation of his travelling companions like John Adams. Franklin surmised correctly that we get illness not by exposure to cold, but by exposure to ill individuals. Wool sweaters, warm hats and scarves, and topcoats need to come back into fashion, along with better ventilation of our buildings. This will not be our last pandemic, ongoing population growth, increasing urbanization, and love of travel will see to that.JohnOn Thu, Aug 6, 2020 at 6:21 AM Roo Harris <rooharris1946 at gmail.com> wrote:This is great news! No new cases were identified, and two of our residents who recovered at Adventist Health Mendocino Coast returned to the facility they know as home. The last resident in our Covid area, a block of 8 rooms which have been sealed off from the rest of the facility, completed recovery and moved to the main facility. The Covid area was professionally cleaned Wednesday, and will be opened to accept the remaining 7 residents in the hospital as they complete recovery. The 3 heroic nurses who worked in the Covid zone will be in voluntary quarantine for 7 more days, and be tested again before returning to work. The 5 staff and 7 residents not fully recovered from Covid continue to slowly improve.John Cottle DOFrodo: I wish none of this had happened.Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All that we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.
