Hi everyone,

Did you see Harold’s email after yesterday’s board meeting? Since we don’t
have Heather back yet (our secretary- for our new members) there was some
other discussion that happened around our committee budgets and
fundraising.

I was pleased to hear from Serena and Interact students last week that they
would partner with us for a fundraiser. That wasn’t the first time they
offered. They are smart and energetic students we’d be wise to partner with.

Also at that meeting, Jeff Stubbs brought up the 24 hour marathon. Students
liked that idea.

I brought up bringing back Bingo like Soroptimist did and that Interact
worked for years. Aleta, who would like be our Interact advisor likes the
bingo idea. I am contacting a Soroptimist treasurer Linda, who can share
their last Bingo event details with me. I’ll being that to our next board
meeting.

And doing a mailer, which I will take up writing a draft. We can gather up
names from our golf, casino and other contact list, and names that John
Porter will share. Not his most personal friend list, and we are not asking
that of any of you.

Our board agreed that committees need to meet in the next three weeks, then
come prepared to the board meeting on 2/28 to discuss and take actions on
the options for reduced budgets and fundraisers.
This action is needed needed because we cancelled Casino night this Feb
-and maybe not hold again.

There is much more that we discussed about website, park and other issues
that I won’t get into here.

I am traveling to the east coast for work in February and March, and Chris
is having hip replacement surgery on Monday. I’ll do my part as I am able.
Now that our Rotary list serve is working again, I hope that committee work
will get active before our next board meeting.

Today is sunny and beautiful, I hope you are in good health and enjoying
it.

Warmly,
Donna
