Hi all,
Since our listserve works again, here is an email I received this week.
Steve phoned and we spoke, and I asked him to send his request via email. I
think most of you have heard of this request, it came to us shortly before
last fourth of July. There was interest from our members, but of course
there will be questions about insurance, fees, etc. As I recall, Ray said
he would manage or take on Park events. Can everyone take a look at his
email I copied below, and be ready to discuss here and at our next meeting?
Thanks,
Donna Schuler

to me
Hi Donna,

>From 2000 to 2017 I was involved in creating an managing the Mendocino
Street Fair on Heider Field.

Since the Mendo County Planning Dept with the blessings of the board of
sups raised our fees to an unaffordable amount we cancelled the fairs in
2018

Our goal in the fair always was two fold.
1. to provide an affordable venue for local craftspeople
2. to give all excess earnings to a non profit.

We were able to meet these goals each and every year.

We are now at an impass where we do not have a venue for our fairs.

We are interested in pairing with Rotary to have street fairs at Rotary
park.

We are very open to the number of fairs and dates of the fairs.

Perhaps one fair this year would be a good beginning on July 4. If the
show goes well then we could think about expanding to more in future years.

Our booth fees had always been at most $40 for a one day show plus
craftspeople donated an additional 10% of sales for sales over $400.
This could be adjusted.

My main concern is exactly where the booths would be located and access to
the booths for unloading and loading for the shows.

A porta poty is necessary.

I can supply you with any other info as needed 937-4866.

Hopefully we can get this all organized before 2/15 as I will then be out
of town for about 4 weeks. Time is needed to get craftspeople on board.

Hope to hear from you soon.
