Hi everyone!
This is the email where we'll keep in touch for what we are doing in Rotary
Park in Mendocino on the 4th of July. It is going to be a great time!
Please reply to all to inform us of any updates. So far this is the plan:
- Face painting for kids- Jerry lined this up.
- Handing out flags to kids- Jerry took care of this.
- BBQ hot dogs (Miller brand) dogs, buns and grill- taken care of by
Gary, serving and set up helpers needed. If we want the chips and drink to
be part of the deal, someone else needs to volunteer to pick up trays of
the small bags of chips out of the area (not available locally), and bring
coolers with ice.
- Tamales- Dean and Donna are taking on the tamales. I am also
considering making a large batch of non-alcoholic bloody Mary's as
something new.
- A Puppet show immediately after the parade. John Porter and Jerry came
up with this great idea. Please help the word out and help bring families
into the park. Jerry has flyers, please take some and distribute.
- Rotary information table- Rotary Park info, Club info, Membership
info, recent projects info- and of course Rotarians to share our story,
increase visibility and be prepared with envelopes for donations.
- More picnic tables- Dean is working on a few tables from Parlin Forks.
Matt has his contact in Elk, and will get two more if possible by July 4th.
- Wearing the newer Rotary shirts, (or the older shirts if you have one
and like them) that Donna will order after next weeks meeting per your size
and style approval. Requested by Ray.
I am sure I missed something. Please chime in with things that you will do
to help :)
Debunking update: I was notified on Wednesday night via email that the
debunking was to happen next Friday the 15th. Because that is not enough
lead time to get awards and notify our members, we will re-schedule it,
probably into July or when LaDonna is in town.
Thanks all!
Donna
