Dear Rotarian's,

This week our club meets on Thursday at the Hill House. I am looking
forward to seeing each of you, and I thank both Jody and Gary for leading
the meetings while I was away, and for club service who certainly helped!
Our club secretary Heather will not be present to take minutes for the next
two meetings, and we need a scribe, please. Here is our program schedule
for the next several weeks, update via Brandt's list:

6/7/18: Mendocino Rotarian Clay Brennan, Superior Court Judge and Lia
Holbrook of Project Sanctuary will provide a program on Domestic Violence,
Family Court and other programs. Do yourself a favor and do a internet
search on Domestic Violence and see the impacts to many areas of our
communities. Your may be surprised. Here is a link to one site:

6/14/18: Leonardo Bowers (Jeff Stubbs speaker- Topic: Albion Bridge)

6/21/18: Bob Matson, Elk Fire Dept. ( Matt O' Halloran)

7/12/18: Sheriff Allman (Ray Alarcon)

The International Committee meets to recap our recent service trip this
Thursday evening, and will be looking forward to presenting a program for
the club and community ASAP- the earliest dates available are July or
August.

Reminder: Our club meets three times a month for club meetings (all
Thursdays at 11:45 at the Hill House), the Board meets on the 4th Thursday
at the Mendocino Hotel at noon. The Mendocino Rotary Foundation Board meets
at least 4 times a year on dates set by that board, at noon at the
Mendocino Hotel.

Whats next? A change in leadership begins July 1st. Gary Hopper will be
our President again next year *on the condition* that we have a succession
plan with a President Elect and President Nominee to follow Gary. This is
the time for all nominees to come forward and make a commitment for the
next three years. Rotary is for Service. Rotarian's are people of action.

*Debunking*

Our debunking will happen soon. Months ago I chose a date of Friday June
22. The date was chosen prior to Frank's passing. His memorial is June
23rd, so maybe our club members will want to change that date? I am not in
charge of planning the debunking, but will let you know as soon as it is
set.

*4th of July in Mendocino in Rotary Park*

Along with our annual face painting and flags for kids, Jerry and John
Porter had the great idea of bringing a fun puppet theater for children to
the park. It's going to be so much fun!! John and Jerry put up the initial
funds, but we are seeking additional donations for the puppet troupe. The
puppet show will happen right after the parade. The park was recently mowed
by Matt, and looks so nice. Our tables get used all the time. Dean is
working on getting some more tables. I am working on finalizing the
District Grant report for Growing and Greening in Rotary Park, and might
need some help.

The flyers are made, and have gone to Mendocino schools. We also want to
sell either hot dogs and soft drinks, or tamales, and have a Rotary
visibility table with information about the golf tournament, our
International service brochures and membership available. Have ideas? We
will not have time to discuss in-depth at our meetings, I'll start two
separate emails about the Golf Tourney and July 4th for you to respond to.
Please use reply to all.

*Fundraiser*

Our Golf Tournament is August 18th. Jody is our chairperson. Hole sponsors,
team sign-ups (15 max), prizes and food are all things to be working on. We
sold out last year, and John Porter once again rallied with the most
donations. It does take a team effort to make this fundraiser successful.

Thank you for all you do,

Donna
