Dear Club president,



On 14th December 2017 your Cool Kids Camp committee members met with Shawna
De Grange (and her fiancé) who run Cloverleaf Ranch, because we knew how
keen you would be to know if Cool Kids Camp will run in 2018.



You probably know that the ranch was partially destroyed in the wild
fires.  What you might not know is that Shawna and he mother, who lived on
the property, also lost their homes. The amazing news from these courageous
people, who love working with their Rotary buddies, is that they do plan to
run camp this year and want to host 20 Cool Kids.



Isn’t that amazing!



Shawna is so dedicated to supporting Cool Kids Camp that when I suggested
to her she might want to skip a year, so that she could maximize her
income, she replied: “Thank you for the kind thought but I really want to
have Rotary Cool Kids with us, especially since some of them have probably
been badly affected by the wild fires.”



Shawna strikes me as someone who would make a wonderful Rotarian, because
she really does personify our motto of “Service above Self”.



I think this will suffice as a wonderfully uplifting update for you,
especially since I know that some of your members have also been dreadfully
impacted by the wild fires.



Please share this great news with your club.



I will send another email later with details of the 2018 Cool Kids Camp and
where to send your checks.
