Title: Rotary Lunch Meeting

PROGRAMS
Mendocino County Supervisor Dan Hamburg will be our guest speaker this  
Thursday, January 11th. This program should appeal to a large audience-  
especially to guests who may be interested in joining our club. If everyone  
is seated (mostly) by 12:05, I can ring the bell earlier to keep the  
meeting to a 1:00 ending. Please note that I will not be putting away the  
club materials this week- again. I am not the club service chair. I'll  
attach the list of who is greeter and collector in a separate email. Thanks  
for doing your part!

We had a excellent meeting with a full room of Rotarians and guests last  
week. Steve Lund stood in for MCDH CEO Bob Edwards who was ill, and gave us  
a solid program on the hospital and the bond proposal.


MEMBERSHIP
Our club is small, and growing our membership is priority number one. We  
did miss those of you who were ill and could not be there. When you do not  
attend, and we have less than 20 members and guests- we loose money. We'd  
like to reduce the cost of lunch so that inviting guests and potential  
members is more affordable, and the way to do that is to attend regularly  
and have a larger club. Please do your part and invite a potential member  
or guest this week, but do not ask them to join until after they have been  
to at least two meetings. Of course if they were previously a member of a  
club elsewhere, and have expressed interest in our club, then you may ask.


AWARDS
We are so pleased that three Mendocino Rotarians will be awarded Paul  
Harris awards this Thursday, with our District Governor Bob Rogers and our  
Foundation Chair Gary Hopper presenting the awards.

INTERNATIONAL SERVICE
Our International Committee will meet directly after the meeting on  
Thursday. Please contact Jeff if you have questions.

FUNDRAISER
Casino Night is around the corner, FEB 23rd. As I stated last  
week, "Fundraisers are the highway that get us to the service projects we  
chose to do." It is all hands on deck time.
