[Rotary] This week and the next - then I am gone!

Hi everyone!
We have our board meeting this week on Thursday at the Mendocino Hotel at
noon. Please see the attached agenda. I received notice via email yesterday
that Matt cannot serve as president this coming year. But he is considering
it for the future. We will be coming to agreement at this weeks meeting
about our leadership succession plan.

Let's all give a big thanks to Dean and John C who made our park shine with
a thorough mowing and clean up last weekend. It looks beautiful! New
photo's are on our Facebook page and being sent to the district. Should
make our PR guy, Jerry, happy. This Saturday John Cottle will lead our
highway clean up crew, meeting at 10 at the Hill house lot.

Our International team is just days away from departing for Fiji, Vanuatu
and NZ. Matt leaves this week. Chris and I depart on 5/5, and arrive in
Fiji on 5/7. The Cottle's, Jeff, Matt, Chris and Donna will all meet in
Port Vila, Vanuatu between  5/13-14. We are building on the relationships
that Matt and Jeff established over the past few years, and meeting with
local clubs and clubs from NZ while we are there.

Sharon Davis, CEO of the Mendocino Coast Chamber of Commerce will be our
speaker next week, 5/3.

The Interact club will come on 5/10. Jody and the students will lead the
meeting. I just learned that they made over $1,300 in tips from the Knights
of Columbus Crab feed! That will surely help their projects, which we will
learn about. As usual, we ask each of you to sponsor and introduce the
student you have lunch with.

Gary has agreed to lead the 5/17 meeting, it will be fun- who knows, lucky
nut may make a comeback :-)

Heather has been typing our meeting notes, and putting on our website live.
You can now catch up if you missed last meeting. There is no moss growing
on this club, and we are a club of action, and in transition.

Jody is our Golf Tournament chair, but he has a great club of support,
right? August 18th is our date. I sent out the poster in PDF form to this
Rotary list, and asked for an update. Someone, please fix so we can get
rolling on this!

P.S. As we have Matt Drewno joining our club, you may see a Matt O or a
Matt D in email communications, just as we have been using John P and John
C.
