Dear Donna,

We have had many requests for information and questions on how to help the
victims of Hurricane Harvey through our Rotary family.  The District has
contacted a number of resources and we have a few suggestions for you.

*First*, please take a look at https://www.rotary.org/en/
rotary-districts-collect-emergency-funds-hurricane-harvey-victims which
explains the newly formed Rotary Foundation's Gulf Coast Disaster Relief
Fund DAF (Donor Advised Fund) account.  For Hurricane Harvey, the DAF
number is 608.  There are instructions in that site on how to donate by
check, credit card, or wire transfer.  This fund was established by Past RI
Director Greg Podd and President-Elect Barry Rassin through The Rotary
Foundation to collect relief contributions. Don and Greg are working with
leaders from the affected districts to create a process for disbursing DAF
funds to their respective district foundations or local 501c3 organizations
to support local relief efforts.

The site also recommends donating to our partner Shelterbox

Texas providing special "privacy tents" for victims use in Evacuation
Centers throughout the state.
