Dear Rotarians,
I am headed out the door shortly to travel to attend our nephews wedding in
upstate New York. It will be a quick trip and I will be back on July 15th.
In the interim Gary has graciously offered (! thanks !) to lead next
Thursdays meeting on July 13th at the Hill House Inn. Our guest speaker is
Jamie Peters from the MCDH Foundation, speaking on Winesong. Finemaster is
John Porter, and there will be questions- so study up or pay the fine :),

The following week July 20th, I will be leading my first meeting as your
new president. Our guest speaker is Doug Moody of North Coast Brewing and
the Sequoia Room Jazz Programs. Ray Alarcon is Finemaster, and there will
be questions- so study up.

I want to thank you for completing the Membership Satisfaction
questionnaire. Thank you for mailing or turning them in to me. I am asking
for all to be submitted by July 15th. Your input is essential for planning
our year together. If you lost yours, let me know and I will send you
another when I return.

Please send the names of the hole sponsors or prize donations for our
August 26th Golf Tournament you have garnered to Jody or Jimmy via email,
or when you see them next Thursday. Lets make as much progress early on so
that this years tournament is a great success!

Ray Alarcon is our Programs Chair. Send him the information for new
speakers and he will find dates that are available. We do have dates
already settled for our DG Bob Rogers visit in Sept, the Interact Club Oct
5th, and an offsite at Pt Cabrillo in October. Our online calendar is
functioning, and will be on our website soon. http://www.mendocinorotary.org

A few parting thoughts: Our 4th of July in Rotary Park was a great time,
beautiful people and nice new Rotary Park signs to check out. And there is
so much else to say about how our little club rocked the 4th of July in
Mendocino- Harold and Annie being Grand Marshalls (pride for our
Rotarians). John And Betty Cottle took the overall prize with VW hippie bus
"Alice" and theme title *Long Strange Trip *the judges loved, and we sure
had fun rocking down the streets of Mendocino passing out daisies and peace
necklaces to the crowd. Awesome spirit! And of course last Fridays
Debunking at the Ravens was excellent. I loved the curry and the specialty
cocktails, and especially liked Jodie's roast of our immediate past
President Gary!!

See you soon~
Donna
