[Rotary] Santa Report

Dear Jerry,

Thank you so much for being Santa this year. Rick and I will be in Mendocino for the Easter event. We are volunteering now to do what is needed, and, we would like to donate dollars for the candy, etc.

We also truly appreciate the support of John Porter, Guenter, Matt, and all who work so hard to make Rotary Park special.

Santa set up about 12:30 on Saturday awaiting the onslaught of kids.  John
P. helped set up and got me a coffee, Guenter was there with his camera.
It was cold but a beautiful sunny day.  I excused John and told Guenter
that it seems everyone takes their own pictures with their I-phones so he
did not have to stay after he took pictures of Santa and the tree.  I
packed up and left at 4PM.

Total audience was 10 kids, 20 adults, primarily women, and 4 dogs.  My
favorite picture was with Nate who was only 5 days old.  Certainly his
first Santa photo.  One family of 3 kids and mom bought me a hot chocolate
with whipped cream.  It was an enjoyable time.  I brought a Boom Box and
played Christmas music during my stay.

It would have been even better if some Rotarians other than John P and
Guenter had shown up.  Your next chance to participate in a Rotary Park
Event is for the Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday April 16, 2017.  I'm out of
town so it is up to you to make it a success.
