[Rotary] Rotary Park Possible 2015/16 Events

To All Rotarians.

                           PLEASE PARTICIPATE

Today (5/7/15) we had an excellent discussion about Rotary Park.  Both of
its future design and its use as a vehicle to reach out to Mendocino
families.  Over the last two years, since we have been discussing Rotary
Park many ideas have been considered, however, there has never been a
straw vote on what the club members want Rotary Park to represent.  Here's
your chance to think about what events should possibly be held in the
park.  The list below is just some events that I came up with, you may
have others you would like to include.  Please be my guest.  The
information collected will be handed over to the new Board for however
they would like to use it.

                Possible Rotary Park Events 2015/16

Please vote your choices by placing a (Y), if you think this is a good
idea or an (N) if you do not think the club should be involved, in front
of the possible event.  If you do not have an opinion, place a (?) in
front of the event.  Return your choices to me at jkk at mcn.org.  DO NOT
SEND YOUR CHOICES TO "REPLY TO ALL".  I will deliver the results to the
new Board.


    MCHS - using the park for its MPA(Mobile Pet adoptions) already       
 scheduled on Saturdays.
    MMF - a weekend performance in the park before or during the music
festival.
    MTC - a theater in the round production on a summer week end.
    MAC - an art presentation possible during their Thanksgiving or Summer
Fairs or other time.
    MFF - promotion of the Film Festival using our sign board or outdoor
screening.
    Soroptomists - Mother's Day Promo
    Children's Fund - Collection spot for a variety of their needs.
    Food Bank - Food collection prior to Thanksgiving
    MAPA - Promotion for their Abalone affair.
    Health Day - BP, Cholesterol and Diabetes Tests

In addition the club should consider sponsoring the following events or
putting up signage prior to these days.

    Jan. 30 - Charter Night Signage in the Park  Example: “Serving the
Community since 1966”
    Feb. 14 - Valentine's Day in the Park
    Feb. 16 - Presidents Day in the Park (Vote on top 5 Pres. Since  
Washington and top 3 Pres. In the 20th Century)
    Mar. 17 - St Patrick's Day in the Park (Lepricon in the park)
    Apr. 5  - Easter Egg Hunt in the Park
    May. 25 - Memorial Day in the Park
    Jun. 14 - Flag Day in the Park (Give out flags)
    Jun. 21 - Fathers Day in the Park (Games Dad’s and kids)
    Jul. 4  - July 4th in the Park (Give out flags, booths, food, etc)
    Aug. 16 - Health Day in the Park (BP, Cholesterol and Diabetes testing)
    Sep. 6  - Labor Day in the Park
    Oct. 11 - Columbus Day in the Park
    Oct. 31 - Halloween in the Park (Costume contest for kids)
    Nov. 11 - Veterans Day in the Park
    Dec. 12 - Holiday Tree Lighting in the Park
    Dec. 19 - Santa in the Park
    Dec. 31 - New Years Eve in the Park
