Fellow Rotarians: Every good sales team needs a good promotion effort behind it to make the “company/organization" products/services known in the marketplace. As you will see below, we are doing a media/advertising blitz to make the public and business community aware of Casino NIght and support your sale of tickets. We even have an email address set up for people to request tickets (Tickets at MendocinoRotary.Org, which comes to my personal account). All this publicity is going to help at the margin. Howeever, we need to do it to make people aware of the event. But Rotarian sales is what will really make all the difference.

For those of you who hate to sell, just remember, this is now our major fundraiser for the year. Painful, but necessary. You can buy your two tickets, but selling them and getting bodies to Crown Hall is preferred.

Here’s a Publicity update:

1. Ad copy, logo, and photo sent with request to the Advocate-Beacon ad for placement Feb. 12, 26 and March 5.

2. Request to The Skunk FM radio ad person submitted with copy (scheduled to be determined when she calls).

3. News release emailed to Mary Aigner, station manager of KZYX (and added to the free events calendar).

3. PSA sent to Hoot Hooten of The Skunk, as well as Vicky Watts, KOZT. These will be free. It also will be added, Vicky said, to the Coastline Calendar.

4. News release sent to Willits News, Ukiah Daily Journal, the Independent Coast Observer (Gualala) and the Advocate and Beacon with photo. The Advocate and Beacon are notorious for not putting releases in the paper until a week to 10 days out. We have no control over this. So, please no one get their panties in a twist when you don’t see the release in the next couple of weeks. It will appear — eventually.

5. News release sent to MCN’s announce List (to about 3,000 subscribers).

6. Copy sent to Donna at the Chamber for the MendocinoWhale.com website for the “events info” page.

7. Copy sent for the Chamber eNews which goes to 550 members. Focus on recruiting Corporate Sponsors.

8. Press release added to the club’s facebook page.

9. News submitted to VisitMendocino.com.

10. Tiger Lily Jones will be hired to place event posters throughout FB and Mendo (Kira is handling this).

We will also be selling tickets on the Trolley, in Crown Hall during the Chowder Tasting on event day and at the Ford House where the chamber is selling wine tasting tickets.

Good luck with your sales.

Bruce

PS - if I’ve missed something let me know.
