Wine, Mushroom and Ale Festival Fundraiser Set for Saturday, Nov. 8
FORT BRAGG, California - With a goal of raising more than $20,000 for five
charities, including three in Fort Bragg, planning is now underway for the
9th Annual Wine, Mushroom and Ale Festival. The Festival, sponsored by St.
Anthony's Catholic Church in Mendocino, will be held from noon to 4 pm
Saturday, November 8, at Parish Hall, 10600 Lansing Street.
You can reserve tickets (no upfront payment required) by calling 937-2406.
Tickets will also be available at the door.
Beneficiaries of this year's fundraiser are The Fort Bragg Food Bank

Children <http://mccf.info> 's Fund, the Hospitality House
<http://www.mendocinochc.org> and Redwood Coast Senior Center
<http://rcscenter.org> in Fort Bragg and St. Anthony's Catholic Church in
Mendocino. "Each group will receive several thousand dollars as in past
years," said Festival Coordinator John Innes.
Like last year, there will be wine tasting, a mushroom soup contest,
mushroom d'oeuvres, cheese sampling, olive oil sampling, and silent and live
auctions.
New to the tasting menu this year will be microbrews.
The St. Anthony's Mushroom Festival is part of the countywide Wine, Mushroom
and Beer Festival

organized by Visit Mendocino.
"Last year, we offered fine local cheeses, pouring by 10 Anderson Valley
Wineries, boutique olive oils, and lots of merchandise, trips, wine baskets,
and gift certificates in our auctions," explained Innes. "Great beers will
be added to the menu."
And, he noted: "we'll have another mushroom soup competition by local chefs.
Of course, you'll get to taste all of them and vote for your choice as best
of 2014."
