from the Fundraising Committee

Bruce,

Thank you for an excellent Fundraising Committee Report. Sorry I was not
there. Below are my comments.

FYI: Our fundraising income and expenditures for the last two years is as
follows:

                  2012/13 2013/14
Art Auction 20.8 21.3
Golf Tournament 4.1 5.5
4th of July 1.0 2.0
Casino Night 8.7 7.6

TOTAL 34.6 36.4

Service Club Exp. 11.6 16.8
Rotary Park 0 20.1

Our Income over the last few years has remained fairly constant in the
mid-30's. We have historically spent this amount on the various Club
Services. This has not been true the last 2 years. The club should make a
determination on how much the Service areas are going to receive in the
future. There has been some discussion that rather than donations to the
various non-profits, we would help them with work projects. That should be
explored and time for these projects budgeted.

My comments on the suggested fundraisers are as follows:

Golf Tournament: Keep as is. $5000

Casino Night: I do not believe a raffle attached to this event will replace
the Art Raffle Income. Your estimated budget is $9000-$12,000 is possible.

July 4th: As stated by others this was never a major fundraising event.
It is an excellent venue for exposure to the public of Rotary and combined
with future events at Rotary Park. The food sales could be moved to Rotary
Park but involves additional expenses. It probably should be maintained at
the firehouse. $2000

Theater event: Was never a big fundraiser. Perhaps about $3000. It was
designed as a "fun"raising event for Rotarians and the public.

Hands On Projects: Make no money, but do help the community. If we do
these they MUST be promoted to the public so show our Rotary benefits the
community, since that is one of our goals. No Income

Rotary Park: Rotary sponsored events to date have not been fundraisers.
For this to change we need to come up with some profitable ideas. A major
use of the park was to offer it to other non-profits for a venue for their
fundraisers. Examples: MAC for an "Art in the Park" event; MTC for a
Theater in the Round performance; MMF for a musical event during the day
during the Festival; Collection site for the Food Bank for donations: Site
for the Humane Society's MPA program (already being done on Saturday
mornings). Sponsored Rotary events: Easter Egg hunt on Easter Sunday (held
in2014 and planned for 2015); Christmas tree lighting and possibly Santa
Claus day in December; a Halloween event; A Mother and Fathers Day
celebration. We will also have fundraising income from the sale of paving
stones, but the net income is not known at this time. Income ??

Estimated Fundraising Income from the above events is between $20,000 to
$25,000. This is short of the income generated by our past events, but
certainly acceptable.

One of goals of the club was not only to raise money for our local
non-profits, but to come together as a club. We now have more members than
we ever have had and getting together for "hand-on" projects should be
successful and hopefully a "fun"raising event.

     Jerry
