[Rotary] Results of our various votes regarding Rotary Park

Dear Rotarians,

With John heading out of town for medical education, I have offered to give the club a short report (see Heather’s weekly report for more details) or our meeting yesterday.

1. Club voted 15-4 in favor of forgiving the $29,000 Rotary Park debt.

2. We voted unanimously to ask the Mendocino Rotary Foundation Board to explore all options for someone to take ownership of Rotary Park. The general consensus is that an organization is needed to assume the heavy maintenance and major liability related to the park.  Our Rotary club would help with keeping the park clean on an on-going basis. (light maintenance like picking up trash, etc.).

3. Presidnet John will generate a budget to be distributed prior at or before the November 13 regular Rotary Club meeting. The budget will outline projected revenues and expenditures over the 2014-15 year (and yes, we all agree, it is long overdue).

The discussion was spirited, but positive with a lot accomplished.
