[Rotary] Foundation Update

Two items:
	1. On Monday evening I presented the Rotary Park opportunity to the MCCSD Board. Tom Honer and Barry Cusick were in attendance and participated in the ensuing discussion. A committee was formed to negotiate an MOU for the consideration of their full board at their next board meeting. The committee includes myself, Tom Honer and Barry Cusick for the Foundation; for MCCSD, Sam Waldman and MCCSD Superintendent Mike Kelley. 
	2. Thanks to the initiative and financial support of Chatter Bishoff, the Foundation has the opportunity to sponsor a competition after the first of the year for artistic renderings of the future park. This will be discussed at the next Foundation board meeting, which is not yet scheduled. The project's objective is to directly involve the community in planning the development of the park. We would approach the elementary school to involve the community's youth as well, and through them their families. One outcome would be that the community will have an opportunity to express their hopes and support prior to the review of plans by the Historical Review Board. Any Rotarians interested in participating in a committee to plan and direct this project should contact me.
