My fellow Rotarians,

For those who were unable to make yesterday's meeting, Tom Honer
announced that it is possible and quite beneficial for us to close on
purchase of the land at Lansing and Main by June 27.  The benefits
would be multiple, the major ones being tax savings, insurance being
totally secure before July 4, and being able to announce "deal done"
at LaDonna's debunking.

Though we have just enough money raised to purchase the land, we need
more for escrow, insurance, title, etc in the range of another
$10,000.  As I said, Tom announced this at yesterday's meeting, and
within minutes Liliana handed him a check for $500.

Many of us in the club have yet to contribute to this cause, myself
included.  I am accepting Liliana's gift as a challenge grant, and
will have a check from Betty and me for $500 in Tom's hands by Monday
at noon when the foundation board meets.  Won't you join me?  If you
can't match that amount at this time, please give generously what you
can.  We need the money as soon as possible.  Make checks out to
Mendocino Rotary Foundation, and mail them to Rotary Club of
Mendocino, PO Box 102, Mendocino, CA 95460.  Alternately drop checks
off at my house or Harvest Market in an envelope marked Rotary Park.

These gifts are tax deductible, and will help secure a teriffic gift
to LaDonna, and to our community.
