Hello Quilters!
It is just over 4 weeks until our HOLIDAY PARTY on Sunday, December 14th!I wanted to make sure that everyone was clear on the guidelines for the BROWN BAG CHALLENGE. See below and please note the due date of Dec 13th.
Also, if you do have leftover BROWN BAG fabrics from previous years, you can participate. But you will need to either pay $5 or decline to compete. This is necessary to fairly distribute the cash prize for the winners.

Ocean Wave Quilters Brown Bag Challenge Rules

You can make anything you would like from the fabrics provided in your Brown Bag ($5) – examples: quilt, apron, table runner, tote bag, etc. You could even donate your completed quilt.

CATEGORIES: Quilts, Home wares/goods, Wearables and Toys

·       You must use some of each fabric in the bag, but the amount you use is your choice.

·       The Brown Bag fabrics must be used on the FRONT, or OUTSIDE (for example - if you are making a tote bag) of your project. It cannot be hidden on the back or inside.

·       You may use as many other fabrics as you wish.

·       You must attach scrap pieces of your Brown Bag fabrics on the front or outside using a safety pin. This allows the viewers to know which fabrics were in your Brown Bag.

The finished items will be displayed at the HOLIDAY PARTY on Dec 14, 2025. Attendees will be able to vote for their favorite project – without knowing who made which item, so your name should not be visible.

Brown Bag Challenge projects must be turned into the box on the OWQ shelf at Sew n Sew anytime between DEC 1ST and the start of the DEC 13TH, so we have time to categorize and display them.
