Ocean Wave Quilters,
Nancy Yearwood asked to share this information about Pacific Textiles
current activities.

"Bast Fibers of Japan" will be the focus of the Gallery, program, and
special workshop for June. Mari Yamaguchi will share her knowledge of the
preparation and uses of ramie, hemp, banana, kudzu and other plant fibers
in the textiles of her native Japan. The Gallery will display her
collection of clothing, ranging from farmers' garments to delicate
costumes, made with these natural fibers. Her Saturday program will
elaborate on their processing and uses, and her afternoon workshop will
give members a chance to create thread with kudzu (Kudzu workshop info).
Gallery First Friday Opening, June 2, 5-7:00 PM (not 8:00 as has been usual)
Saturday Morning Program Series: June 3, 10-11:00 for Gathering
                                                         11-12:00 Program
Saturday Afternoon Kudzu Workshop: 1-4:00
