[Oceanwavequilters] Email from Mary Foster

I have heard from some members of the OWQ that you got a strange email from Mary Foster. (It did not come through the listserv - it was sent individually.) Here is what Mary and Larry have to say about it:





"Hello all - This is really Mary and Larry Foster - the whale folks. Apologies for the inconvenience in receiving a scam email today that appeared to be from us. We have been hacked and did not send any such email. We do not have and have never had a hotmail.com account. If you receive any such bogus hotmail emails from us, please immediately delete and not respond. I have spoken with at&t; our mailto:fosterskies at sbcglobal.net account has been reset;  password changed, and the email account is intact and operating as before. Hopefully, no other further complications will occur.



Thanks to many of you that left messages and texted us to alert us of the problem. We appreciate your concern and hope your email hasn't been compromised. A life's interruption for all. Sorry about that. This is no fun."





So, if you got a weird email from Mary, just delete it. The listserv also received the message, but it has an automatic stop for any message that did not come from a member on the listserv (and since Mary's email was just a spoof, it blocked it)... whenever these kinds of messages are received by our OWQ listserv, they send me a message to review the email before they will send it on, so it's a good safeguard for us.
