Hello Quilting Friends,
I will be happy to share a Qi Gong practice with you this coming Thursday at 10:30 a.m. via Zoom. Sharon Lau will be the host and she will send out a Zoom link to you for this practice.
A few notes about Qi Gong.
Qi Gong is one of the five pillars of TCM…Traditional Chinese Medicine:
Acupuncture, Nutrition, Herbs, Massage Therapy, Qi Gong. Qi Gong is the favored practice because you can do it yourself.
(Tai Chi is a form of Qi Gong but QG is easier and more accessible.)
Qi, or Chi, means Energy. Gong means skill or work.
The practice of Qi Gong is using movement and breath to circulate energy through your body.
It is a self healing practice basically creating less stress, more energy, improved health, mental clarity, and emotional balance.
This is not a faith based practice so it is not in contradiction to any belief or religion you may follow.
And it is easy. Any one can do this. All movements can be modified and almost all of can be done from a chair. There is no getting up and down from the floor. (There are some floor exercises but I won’t be doing them.)
I expect this first practice to last about 45 to 60 minutes then we’ll see how it goes from there.
This first practice I will focus on the immune system, the respiratory system, and the lungs…very timely.
Because the best Zoom spot for me is the living room of our vacation rental, I won’t be able to have a set time for weekly practice but I will give a few days notice and work with Sharon L to set things up.
Please remember, this is part of my Teacher Training program and I thank you for this opportunity to learn along with you. Your feedback will be invaluable.
Thanks all,
Kathy
