Hi all you talented women
I have a website Volunteer Opportunities volopp.org <http://volopp.org/> that links volunteers to organizations or events who need them.
A woman just sent me this item for the Main List and I thought it was such a great idea that I’d pass it on to you as well. It’s on my website in the Main List (the organizations are listed alphabetically or you can do a Find command and type in Dress) as Dress A Girl Around the World.

Here’s what the woman wrote me:
Vol Opportunity CONTACT info: Local contact/volunteer -Louanne Totoro email louannet at comcast.net <mailto:louannet at comcast.net>
Regional Director -Sharon Miranda email mmiranda627 at gmail.com <mailto:mmiranda627 at gmail.com>
Vol Opportunity PHONE:
Vol Opportunity VOLUNTEER NEEDS: People who can sew a simple dress, have a sewing machine and have or can obtain fabric for the dresses.
Vol Opportunity LOCATION: This can be done in your home. I live in Fort Bragg and can assist you in getting started.
COMMENTS: I volunteer with this organization by sewing simple dresses for girls around the world who are unable to afford any new clothing. I send the dresses I sew to the Northern California Regional Director, Sharon Miranda, who then sends them wherever they are needed. Dress A Girl is part of the larger organization Hope 4 Women International.
Donations of cotton or cotton blend fabric are also needed.
Dress A Girl is one of the projects of Hope 4 Women International. They’re rated very high. Looks like a wonderful group. Here’s their mission statement:
We are dedicated to empowering women around the world through training, day spas, business start-ups and celebrating women. We strive to bring joy, dignity, better health and God's love to women who suffer from poverty, disease and low self-worth.
Just thought I’d pass it on.
take care
Lynne Calder
