based on the youth-led march happening nationwide on Jan. 20th. These youth will be telling the MLK crowd about the march they are planning for Saturday, Jan. 20 in Fort Bragg. Everyone is welcome, the youth will just be the leaders of it!

Yes, Ellen Campbell will bake our MLK cake; she’s done that for the past few years. She works that day at the Mendocino Clinic so we’ll have to pick up the cake. Usually Bob and Daniel do that.

Yes, Ui Westly will emcee our event and sing as well; she has a great voice and great spirit. We scored! Richard, will you follow up with Ui? I’ve added her to our MLK email list; however, she’s so busy, more than likely she won’t be able to make our meetings.

Yes, Thanksgiving Coffee will again donate coffee to our event.

Yes, SEIU’s Cesar Alvarado and Raul Gardea (617-0129) are “in.” Cesar’s been added to our MLK email list.

Have emailed these groups and am waiting to hear from them:

California Conservation Corps

AVID, the volunteer group at the Fort Bragg high school

SEIU 1021 wants our MLK flyer so their head honcho can more easily make a decision. Note there are two different SEIU groups serving different workers but they work together regularly.

Both HealthCorps and AmeriCorps have no volunteers. I got the idea that they’re no longer funded.

Before we print out our new flyer, I’d love to see it for tweaks.
