- Joe Ayers came last week and spoke about his disabled son who was abused by a caretaker, so John spoke to a former Judge in Mendocino County and set up a meeting on 10/10 at 5:30 with the sheriff, DA and Police Chief. Cases such as this are difficult to
prove but cannot be ignored.

- There are often many conflicting meetings of various groups, so Irene wants us to get better at coordinating with other groups to stop having so many conflicts. Ann suggests checking with Mobilize Mendocino, as Susan Nutter sends out messages daily with
events, actions, calls to make, and will post any upcoming activity. Mail any info to Richard to post on our site.

- Richard wants a group potluck with other local activist organizations so we can get together on activities instead of each doing one thing. Agnes suggested that every group speak at MLK, but some felt that is not the right time to interject other activities.
Program is already crowded with March, Lunch, speakers, music, etc.

-We have gotten good publicity about some Occupy events through the reporter for the Beacon and Advocate, Mary Rose. Whenever we have an event we need to notify the newspapers and radio stations. Ann will speak to her about the history of our Bank protests
and why we are still there after 5 years. Richard made a great video with a song about Occupying the Streets and the Banks and sent it out on e-mail. Bank fraud and vulture capitalism are still lurking and Agnes got a good editorial printed in the newspaper
about bank foreclosures.

- Healthcare is in jeopardy and there is a bill before the California Senate - SB562- backed by Jim Wood but not passed in time for this year's session of Legislature bills. Wood still is taking money from big Insurance so let the time lapse. We need to
go door-to-door with petitions or information and keep pushing, as the Republicans want to take away healthcare.

- Our event at the Peace garden on Sep 21 was a success - beautiful weather, lots of folks attended including many family members of Phil Ebert, our honoree this year. He was extremely proud to be recognized for all his years of dedicated peace mongering,
and was wearing a homemade Peace shirt. He gives out large Peace symbols to folks that come by and talk to him on Sundays in Caspar, where he has been holding his Peace vigil for over a decade. Richard had our Plaque restored and it looks great. A lot of
donations came in, there was good coverage in the newspaper, refreshments were served and a lot of people participated.
