<p style="font-size:12px; font-family:arial"><span style="font-size:13px; font-family:Arial"><b>We've won a small victory against polluters and the Trump administration, led by Scott Pruitt at EPA, in their attempt to repeal clean water protections for one
in three Americans.</b></span> </p>
<p style="font-size:12px; font-family:arial"><span style="font-family:Arial; font-size:13px"><b>And it's all because of people like you.</b></span><span style="font-family:Arial; font-size:13px"></span>
</p>
<p style="font-size:12px; font-family:arial"><span style="font-family:Arial; font-size:13px">A month ago, EPA announced its decision to roll back the Clean Water Rule and opened up a 30-day comment period to get public input.
<b>The response has been overwhelming.</b> Already, <b>more than 40,000 Sierra Club members and supporters</b> have sent in their comments to stop this dangerous rollback. The response has been so large, EPA extended the comment period through the end of September. </span><span style="font-family:Arial; font-size:13px"></span>

million Americans.</b> This commonsense clarification helped protect upstream sources of water that had been largely unprotected and was <b>the result of over 400 community hearings and 1,200 peer-reviewed scientific studies.</b></span></font></font></font>
</p>
<p style="font-size:12px; font-family:arial"><font size="1"><font size="1"><font face="Arial"><span style="font-size:13px">At a time when we should be focusing on protecting water quality for Americans, this puts too many, especially rural communities that
depend on well water, at risk.</span></font></font></font> </p>
