<p>Dear friends, </p>
<p> I am very excited about <span>the upcoming </span>visit by the historic Golden Rule, the small Veterans for Peace sailboat that is launching on a mission to go down the Coast of California to pass the message to stop Nuclear War. It was the world's first
peace boat, and the inspiration for Greenpeace. The Golden Rule started bringing worldwide attention to the U.S. nuclear bomb testing in 1958 in the South Pacific, and the poisonous radiation was spreading around the world. The boat was pulled from the bottom
of Humboldt Bay and restored by the Veterans for Peace some years ago, and now they go on regular peace missions. They were here two years ago, and we had a potluck for them at Char's house. I would like to do another potluck, maybe at a larger venue but
still an informal setting where our activists, peacemakers, Ocean lovers, community and others who are interested can mingle and help support their cause. The Veterans for Peace in Eureka restored this sailboat and they lead Peace Action Camps, give sailing
training, and advocate for an end to the Nuclear madness that threatens our world. A large house like the Tarbell's would be great. Or we could use the Trinity Church Hall.</p>
<p>Timeline:</p>
<p> 6/11: The Golden Rule sails into Noyo Harbor on Sunday June 11th around 2pm, and they will give folks boat tours and will dock at Silver's.
</p>
<p> 6/12: On Monday daytime they will give folks tours and even sail out of the Harbor! <span>Our potluck will be that evening, Monday 7/12.</span></p>
<p><span> 6/13: More boat tours, greeting locals, sailing trips, and in the evening a reception at Silver's with a presentation of their mission to the public asking for donations.</span></p>
<p><span> 6/14: The last day here, they will leave sometime in the afternoon.</span></p>

<div><span>The Golden Rule trip needs promos, donations of items for the trip like Thanksgiving coffee, Brewery beer, Roundman Smokehouse items, etc. They are not a

<div><span>401(C)3 so they fund their missions with donations. As our community is very generous, I believe we can be gracious hosts for this group. They sponsor Peace Camps and give sailing lessons. Their iconic sailboat has been working to reduce and eventually
