border-top-right-radius: 5px; border-bottom-right-radius: 5px; border-bottom-left-radius: 5px; ">VillageTowns.net</a></li></ul></span><div><br></div></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>As all the primaries are Kiwis, </div><div>it appears to be a Technology Transfer<br>from New Zealand . . .<br>IF they can raise the capital<br>Millions/Billions (?) necessary to do this<br>(and thatza big IF)<br>they’ve chosen a good site,<br>-EZ access to fiber optic cable for hitech needs<br>-south end of county=no impact on “local” watersheds<br>-private, yet accessible to highway, etc.<br><br>altho their estimate<br>of carrying capacity<br>for 435 acres, (with 200 set aside for agriculture)<br>= 10,000 residents<br>(20 “villages” of 500 people)<br>is a bit unrealistic, IMO.<br><br>That said,<br>their design concepts are good,<br>re: “Village/Town”design,<br>rooftop greenhouses and rainwater cacheing with<br>4-tier water re-use/recycling<br>systems built-in to each structure. . . <br>+ hard-wired fiber optic cable to all homes and businesses...<br>and it would be interesting to see<br>if they can pull off, say, 5 “villages”<br>of 500 people each within that schema.<br><br>I’d support a smaller-scale project proposal, <br>as Proof of Concept,<br>for more walkable, healthy community infrastructure, etc<br>(note plans call for 1,000 sq ft, smaller-scale, high-density apts.<br>no vehicular traffic within town, no wireless internet<br>and more public places to gather, learn, garden and celebrate<br>as fellow-humans, rather than smartphone/facebook slaves?)<br><br>And I like that it is designed to support clean industry. . .<br>(after all, their "clean industry”<br>could well include designing/building the very components<br>necessary to implement more such <br>appropriate technology elsewhere in the county?)<br><br>a population goal of 2,000-3,000 <br>might be more appropriate?<br>(by comparison, Ft.
