She's coming to get a good look -- up close and personal -- at the spectacular Stornetta Public Lands, which as most of you probably know have been proposed for inclusion in the Coastal National Monument.</div><div style="padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px;">On Friday November 8 Secretary Jewell is hosting a public meeting to discuss the community's vision for the continued protection of the Point Arena - Stornetta area, a remarkable place that provides great opportunities for outdoor recreation and important wildlife habitat under Bureau of Land Management oversight.</div><div style="padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px;">The Sierra Club strongly supports the permanent protection of this amazing area by giving it National Monument status, and encourages all of our members who possibly can to attend the meeting and to share your own vision for conservation -- this is the kind of opportunity that comes only rarely.</div><div style="padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px;">The meeting will be held at City Hall in Point Arena (451 School St) at 2PM, with sign-in starting at 1:30. It's free and open to everyone, but space is limited and advance reservations are needed.
