Hi folks!
Sorry I've been late to life and just now catching up on emails.

Just wanted to pass along this info and we also did a Facebook live if you would like to watch it - https://www.facebook.com/667100518/videos/10158697870940519/

Misty Meadlin, led with a Land and Language Acknowledgment for the Sherwood Valley Band of Pomo Indians. It was her first time having the opportunity to speak first and it was amazing! We had a really great audience on MLK day and Tess from City Council and one of the County BOS were in attendance. There was lots of music, singing and art work from locals. We screened the "I have a Dream" speech and our panel discussed how the message still resonates today. Participants broke out into break out rooms and also got to talk about the speech. We launched a fundraiser for the tribe and raised $500!

So many people have also worked hard to get Black History Month proclamations put into place and we currently have one in the City of Fort Bragg, Ukiah and Mendocino County. I'm working with the major and city manager in Willits in hopes that we can get the proclamation in place for Feb 2022. Pretty great things!

Let me know if you have any problems accessing files/link.
