Mendocino Coast
Climate Strike Planning Team

Dear Mendocino Coast Business Neighbors,

Please consider joining students, citizens, and businesses around the
world in a Global Climate Strike. There will be simultaneous events in
Mendocino and Fort Bragg on Friday September 20 from 1:00 to 2:00. Walk
Out and Stand Up for Climate Action!

There are several ways you can participate:

Close your business for one hour and join the events.

Allow your employees to leave work to participate.

Hang a poster in your window. There are 2 different versions: one to use
if you are closing down, and the other to show your support while staying
open.

Wear green armbands on September 20.

Make a public statement of support on your website or social media accounts.

About the global event: “This September, millions of us will walk out of
our workplaces and homes to join young climate strikers on the streets and
demand an end to the age of fossil fuels. Our house is on fire — let’s
act like it. We demand climate justice for everyone.” Called by Greta
Thunberg and a long list of international organizations, it kicks off a
week of worldwide climate action. For more information about the global
event, visit globalclimatestrike.net <http://globalclimatestrike.net/>.

About the local events: Our concept is “Walk Out and Stand Up for
Climate Action!” We will stand single file, shoulder-to-shoulder,
holding signs along Main Street in both Fort Bragg and Mendocino.
Photographers and videographers will capture the event from the ground and
the air. For more information about the local events, find us on facebook
at Global Climate Strike: Mendocino Coast, where you can download the
posters if you need extra copies. You can also email questions to
mendohuddle at gmail.com <mailto:mendohuddle at gmail.com>.

Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Mendocino Coast Climate Strike Planning Team -
