>  Over 30 Marshallese and Kosraeans came to welcome Golden Rule to Maui! We gave an appropriate speech from the bowsprit, read the letter declaring Sept 10 Golden Rule Day, and asked for permission for the crew to come to land. Everyone said, “Yes”, so we came and shook everyone’s hand, then passed a basket around. Then everyone gave at least $1, especially the little kids! We ate “pupu” (appetizers) and visited and the Marshallese sang some songs.

> This was the new pastor’s first day. Again, Helen was introduced and talked for a few minutes during the service and participated in the social hour, where I had a table of literature. Invited people to sign up to go sailing, and several did, which worked well for crew training later.
