SEASON: CALIFORNIA COAST
In early July, the Golden Rule will sail from San Diego to Humboldt Bay where the team that rebuilt her will finish preparing her for ocean sailing. Of course, there will be parties and fund raising events while we’re there!
Then we’ll port-hop back to San Diego, visiting some of our favorite cities: (TENTATIVE SCHEDULE)
Eureka:	July 18 – Sept 8
SF Bay:	Sept 13-17
Santa Cruz:	Sept 21-23
Marina del Rey:	Sept 28
San Pedro:	Sept 29-30
San Diego:	Oct 3-24
Late-October launch into the Pacific, bound for Hawaii!
BEYOND HAWAII
Once we have visited the Hawaiian Islands, we hope to continue on to the Marshall Islands, where the Quaker crew tried to sail Golden Rule to in 1958. Then we would like to visit Guam, Okinawa, Korea and Japan before returning to the US.

On December 11, 2017 International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. VFP GOLDEN RULE PROJECT

We aim to advance Veterans For Peace opposition to nuclear weapons and war, and to do so in a dramatic fashion.
 
We have recovered and restored the original peace ship, the Golden Rule, that set sail in 1958 to stop nuclear testing in the atmosphere, and which inspired the many peace makers and peace ships that followed.
 
The reborn Golden Rule is sailing once more, to show that nuclear abolition is possible, and that bravery and tenacity can overcome militarism.
 
The Golden Rule crew spreads the word about the continuing dangers of nuclear power, and the poisoning of the air, water and soil from the entire nuclear cycle, from uranium mining to the disposal of nuclear waste.
 
“We gave a platform to local activists who are concerned about threats to the environment from proposed coal and natural liquid gas ports throughout the Northwest,” said Helen Jaccard. “Veterans For Peace is also very concerned about the militarization of Washington state, where the Navy is conducting widespread electronic war games on the Olympic Peninsula and even invading Seattle city parks.”

Event Volunteers Needed
With many educational stops, we need a lot of help, all hands on deck and there are many roles to play!
Organizers, authors, public speakers, a web master, photographers, videographers will all be needed and appreciated.
