Caspar Community
Disaster Fest
For release: Monday October 16, 20017

On October 21st, the Caspar Community is holding our first "Disaster Fest,"
an event we had previously planned before the current fire event. One thing
that became apparent in this emergency: in a disaster, we TRULY are on our
own. During this fire, our community quickly came together; many lessons
were learned, and many problems identified.

Come learn about our ongoing disaster preparations in Caspar, share your
recent experiences, ask questions of the experts and plan how to best
organize our community for future disasters.

Presentations and information will be available on household readiness,
from the American Red Cross, as well as other local experts. Comedian
Sherry Glaser will help us look at how to take a deep breath, and laugh,
even in traumatic times. The Caspar Community will also be taking orders
for ingredients to create "shelter in place" barrels, one of which will be
raffled off at the event. Donations will also be taken for the current
shelter at Fortunate Farm and our ongoing community disaster preparations.
Sign up for future Red Cross and CERT trainings will be available.
