[Occupymendocino] Minutes of July 15/2017

Present: John Fremont, Bob Lane, Irene Malone, Dan Baker, Barbara Moller, Sheila Tracy, Ann Rennacker


- Tues 7/25 there is a workshop on the Millsite cleanup of the Millpond and wetlands with DTSC and the City at Town Hall from 2-5pm, and then a meeting with the DTSC, the City Council and the Planning Commission at 6:30-9pm.  This is a chance for the public to make suggestions and comments, pick options they want implemented, and hear the plans being made on the last part of the G/P Millsite cleanup.  It is important that we ask for the best cleanup possible, with no toxins left.


- Finance report on Sheila's concessions at the Anne Feeney event: after reimbursements to Sheila for her out-of-pocket expenses we cleared $88.00. Ann absorbed the cost for things she brought, so with the $10 dues for the meeting room, Ann will deposit $98 into our Peace and Justice account.


- 4th of July Parade in Mendocino was a great success - we had 90 pictures posted on our page and 2 were of our entry, one of Bob driving the Truck with our signs and Banner and one of Sheila singing to the Judges.  We passed out hundreds of Occucards to people on the Parade route with info about Occupy issues.


- There is a Paul Bunyan days Parade in Fort Bragg on 9/3/17, we will discuss at a future meeting.

- Sheila had a complaint about the process on Occupy decisions.


- International Peace Day is Sept 21, and the nominees for our plaque are: Phil Ebert, Parents for Peace and Veterans for Peace.  Last year we named a group, the Women in Black, and the year before a person, Zac Zachary.  We considered picking a group every other year and a person every other year.  We can decide at the next meeting.


- Rod Jones wants to do an event - since the end of the Bernie run for President he has been active with Progressives in the Mobilize Mendocino movement, which has a lot of fired-up young people participating and resisting.  John wants to meet with the group, Ann agrees but Sheila is hesitant.  She wants to ally with Greens.  We can discuss this at a later meeting.
