Well, Trump is pushing through the Dakota Access Pipeline and having the Water Protectors at Standing Rock brutally arrested and taking out their camp. A thousand veterans said they would go there and oppose this but I haven't heard how that went. On the news today it was announced that the DAPL will be pumping dirty tar sands oil within a week. The Water Defenders will need support. Ann

Hello Folks,
Will, Burl, Hana, Margaret, Sandy, Michele and I circled up last night and pondered our futures...so to speak. We are not scheduling any meetings in the near future for now. TONIGHT there is a Standing Rock Benefit at the Mateel Community Center in Garberville. with Melvin Seals. from 4:20 today until 11pm.
We are committed to helping Hana with efforts to support the Bismarck Safe House. On March 19, from 4-6pm Atta will be in town and there will be a gathering at the Willits Center for the Arts where she will talk.
Hana has reserved the Little Lake Grange for May 13 for a county wide fund raising event. People who would like to help with coordinating the event can contact Hana at 867-1717 or Hana H.D. <h2ol.v.95454 at gmail.com> Cloud Forest will sponsor and provide Insurance. We hope that Willits folks who produced the Feb 18 event will want to help with the May 13 event. We see the May 13 event as a networking opportunity for environmental groups. We are committed to continuing fund raising for the Safe House and for legal support.
Even though Will and Burl are moving to Santa Cruz the first week in March...he will likely come up for the events. Jen and Will intend to compile educational material about the ongoing legal support needed for water defenders that are incarcerated and facing federal charges. Funds we raise will go directly to one of the following: Water Protector Legal Collective<https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/11B5z8>, Lakota People’s Law Project<https://secure.everyaction.com/GKhPKap1OEisQft2qcms4Q2>, Red Warrior Defense Fund<https://www.gofundme.com/redwarriorcamp>, Red Fawn Legal Fund<https://www.generosity.com/fundraising/free-red-fawn>. or Earth Justice<https://secure.earthjustice.org/site/Donation2?df_id=10960&10960.donation=form1&_ga=1.246473796.136151625.1485366488>.
Katelin flew back to Bismarck yesterday. She arrived amid the chaos of the plundering of the camps. She had been asked to return to assess the need for ongoing Women's Health care at the camps. When she reports in I will share her findings.
May we all move forward as activists with hearts full of peaceful, prayerful global solidarity in defense of sacred Mother Earth and her waters of life. Standing Rock crystalized a movement that is only just beginning. With love and respect....we are all related.
Jen
Thanks to Darrell for this attached account of his experiences traveling to Standing Rock last November
