Sort of true, there are other sources of cobalt. There are also other things that depend on child labor in terrible conditions including slavery that most Americans would never give up: Chocolate from Africa, Diamonds from Africa, Rubies and Emeralds from Sri Lanka, fruits and vegetables mostly US and Asia, Shrimp from Asia, Clothing from Asia, Shoes from Asia, Electronics from Asia. So this article is a distraction piece put out and promoted by the fossil fuels industry to get people that care about the planet to question their motivations in buying alternative fueled and electric vehicles. I'll give up on electric cars when the fossil fuels industry gives up their cell phones and computers.
