Hey folks, please come to the Fort Bragg Library Community Room on Saturday, 3/19/16 at 6pm to find out what we are doing locally to help protect the grey whales, and see a movie with us. This is one of the last events for Whale Festival and we will have information about what we are doing to save our whales from Navy wargames and sonar noise in their migratory path. Join us Saturday night! Ann

Dear OPC folks,

Our next meeting will be on March 19 in the Fort Bragg Library
Community Meeting Room at 7 pm during the Fort Bragg Whale Festival.
We may be showing the wonderful Gray Whale movie, "Soul Migration."

We're working to protect the Gray Whales from harm. They're threatened
by the Navy's proposed war training exercises expansion off the NW
U.S. coast. We're also concerned that the U.S. Department of Toxic
Substance Control (DTSC), the Fort Bragg City Council and the Planning
Commission all signed off on an inadequate clean up of the old mill
site.

The Ocean Protection Coalition (OPC), oceanprotection.org, was formed
in the 1980s to fight against drilling offshore for oil in Mendocino
County. The successful fight was joined by many Mendocino community
members. OPC also worked to stop the introduction of huge wave energy
machines off our coastline and against fracking in Mendocino County.
