 	Dear Agnes,
Did you hear that Big Oil's cronies in Congress just repealed the crude
export ban? Now Big Oil already has a plan to build a giant oil export
terminal - but we can stop them.
A company called Tesoro-Savage Petroleum wants to build North
America’s largest oil-by-rail terminal, right on the shores of the
Columbia River. Their plan is to bring millions of gallons of crude in
by rail, then ship it by tanker down the Columbia River to US and
foreign ports on the Pacific Ocean.
This means 360,000 gallons of explosive crude oil per day rumbling
across the West by train, then down the Columbia River by tanker,
threatening the health and safety of anyone and anything living in its
path.
The good news? It’s not too late to stop this terminal. Washington
Governor Jay Inslee will make a yes or no decision on the oil terminal.
Let’s help him decide how to vote.
Locals living near the proposed terminal site are not happy about this
project, and they’ve been loud about it. Tesoro-Savage’s reckless,
out-of-touch proposal is drawing enormous opposition. Columbia River
tribes, longshoremen, firefighters, business leaders, health
professionals, climate activists, neighborhood associations, faith
leaders, the Cities of Spokane, Portland, and Vancouver WA have all come
out in opposition to the terminal.
But they can’t do it alone. Let’s show Governor Inslee that the
whole world is watching. Tell him to REJECT this dangerous project.
Thank you for everything you do to make this movement real.
 	Sincerely,
  	John Sellers

P.S. Now that the oil export ban has been lifted, we’re going to be
see a lot more of these proposals on the West Coast, as oil companies
rush to ship their product overseas. If we make it impossible for them
to ship it, then they’ll have to keep it safely in the ground where it
belongs. So say no to the Tesoro-Savage terminal today and start making
it crystal clear: Oil is dead. Renewables are the future.
