Big pharma companies are ripping off American citizens who need their
drugs in order to survive. The statistics are shocking:

  * In 2O13, the U.S. spent nearly *4O% more per person* on prescriptions
than Canada, the next most expensive industrialized nation.
  * In 2O14, the U.S. federal government paid* $1 billion in government
contracts* to Pfizer, which has $148 billion in untaxed profits stashed
offshore.
  * In 2O15, Martin "Pharma Bro" Shkreli increased the cost of an HIV/AIDS
drug by 4,OOO% – charging patients *$75O per pill.*


The stakes are high. Unless we take action NOW, big pharmaceutical
companies will continue to increase drug prices and rake in record
profits. All while Americans, who depend on these companies' life-saving
medications, struggle to get by.
