Dear Ann:

Politicians will tell you Social Security and Medicare are financially insolvent.  That is a lie.  Truth is they want to profit off what you have already paid into your entire work life.  Many people die prematurely before collecting a penny off either program.  Many die shortly a few short years after becoming eligible for both programs.  In recent years, Senator Bernie Sanders reported Social Security has a $2.7 trillion dollar surplus, enough funds to last at least a couple of decades.  Don't let the GOP Congress steal what you have paid for.  Don't let the GOP Congress privatize these programs and add a "middle man" into the equation. I just signed a petition to The United States House of Representatives and The United States Senate: We stand against the destruction of Social Security and Medicare. We oppose any cuts in benefits to either program. We oppose any Congressional Legislation that integrates US Postal Service Employees into Medicare as they have already pre-paid their health insurance decades in advance. Expand Social Security because the money is there to make it happen. We oppose any privatization in Social Security and Medicare. Lower the age to enroll in Medicare to age 60.
