There are some petitions to send regarding Trump's cabinet picks, and a great pictoral segment on the Standing Rock victory.

Fox In the Henhouse: Pruitt for Head of EPA
President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Oklahoma attorney general Scott Pruitt to head the Environmental Protection Agency. As state attorney general, Pruitt led the fight against climate action and the Clean Power Plan, did the bidding of the fossil fuel industry, and opposed life-saving protections for our air and water. He has cast himself as a sworn enemy of the very agency he would oversee. "Putting Scott Pruitt in charge of the EPA is like putting Darth Vader in charge of the Rebel Alliance," says Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune.
Read more, and urge your senators to oppose Pruitt's nomination.<http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=cc836df1271618c268061a81da06f5d36cc361d8f9c53b5a7f6fd3fd1b840cd792fbf1dc7784fab4>

And Equally Frightening...
Donald Trump's nomination of ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson to serve as the United States' top diplomat is dangerous and irresponsible. Appointing an oil executive with zero government experience to be Secretary of State undermines U.S. foreign relations and leadership in addressing climate change and human rights violations around the world. Tillerson's nomination cements the fact that clean air, clean water, and a safe climate are all endangered in Trump's America. The good news is that this is not yet a done deal.
Send a message to your senators now, urging them to oppose Tillerson's nomination for Secretary of State.<http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=cc836df1271618c201fa8ad34dbeedc1affb63ed1d3d53780dc372a0b36bddd0dfe275554a1c4dc8>

Victory March at Standing Rock
Boston-based photographer Brian Nevins was at the Standing Rock camp in North Dakota when the news came down that the Army Corps of Engineers would seek an alternative route for the Dakota Access Pipeline. The photos he took capture a march that took place immediately after the announcement was made. "[It was] about the most powerful moment I've experienced in awhile," Nevins says. "For a day, we were one people with one cause all unified in prayer for the cause of our planet. It brought me to tears."

Shelter From the Storm
The John Muir Memorial Shelter—commonly known as the Muir Hut—was built by the Sierra Club in 1930 at 11,955-foot Muir Pass in the Sierra Nevada for the benefit of backpackers seeking shelter from the elements. The leaky 86-year-old structure needs repairs, but thanks to the vision of a determined Sierra Club activist, on the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service the Muir Hut was placed on the National Register of Historic Places—a key step in ensuring that this memorial to the Sierra Club's founder gets the protection and restoration it deserves.
Join us as we hike to the hut.<http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=cc836df1271618c2e2c9efbc200d5c5d391d06c702a88db4f993a95c8ad63be019fa971609343854>

Restore Salmon Runs on the Snake
The Columbia and Snake Rivers were among the greatest salmon rivers on earth until four dams were built on the lower Snake between 1955 and 1975. Although the federal agencies responsible for these dams have repeatedly refused to act to protect wild salmon, last month a federal court judge ordered them to develop a plan to restore wild salmon and directed them to consider options like potential dam removal. Public input is being accepted between now and early January.
Tell the Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation, and Bonneville Power Administration to remove the lower Snake River dams.<http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=cc836df1271618c2d04a537beac19c86232f5ef5fb8210e26881744912ef4770b32e70470253d61a>

Must-See TV Tomorrow Night
In 2014, filmmaker James Cameron and actor/politician Arnold Schwarzenegger teamed up with seasoned television producers and harnessed celebrity power to create the Showtime documentary series Years of Living Dangerously, featuring stories of people on the front lines of the climate crisis. A second season is airing this fall, produced and broadcast by the National Geographic Channel. In the season finale on December 14 (tomorrow) at 10:00 p.m. EST, the filmmakers travel to Waukegan, Illinois, to speak with Sierra Club members working with the Club's Beyond Coal campaign.

Double Dose of Denial
Donald Trump claims to be a champion for women, notwithstanding his nasty rhetoric, his misogyny, and lurid descriptions of sexual assault. At the same time, he's also in denial about climate change, which he has called a hoax. This double dose of denial is especially dangerous for women. In addition to the Trump administration's expected attacks on women's rights in the U.S., unequal access to medical care, property ownership, and employment around the globe means that women will continue to be disproportionately affected by climate change and extreme weather.
Help us fight for women's rights and climate justice.<http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=cc836df1271618c2d4170be3a60bb83719ed625c98e464214022d40d9529d328d672bcaa7c91f248>

Up Close and Personal with Grizzlies
This fall, Sierra magazine writer Aaron Teasdale traveled to the heart of grizzly bear territory in the Northern Rocky Mountains to investigate efforts to encourage bear-human coexistence. While on assignment, he captured some amazing footage of wildlife biologists working with bears and then releasing them back into the wild.

Holiday Survival Guide
What do you you say, while gathered around the holiday dinner table, when your Uncle Eustace says coal is going to make a huge comeback under the Trump administration? How do you respond to Aunt Alice's assertion that natural gas is the fuel of the future, or cousin Jimmy's jubilation that the EPA will finally get off Big Oil's back and we'll all enjoy lower prices at the pump? And how do you keep your cool when your parents hand out "Let's Make America Great Again" caps to everyone just before dessert hits the table?
Here are a few tips we hope will help. Or just play with your peas...<http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=cc836df1271618c2534345557a370cb231c9bb3320f2f241532faf6433c670068f694fb2c25f10a8>

A Grand Legacy
The Grand Canyon watershed is home to a distinct array of native wildlife, hundreds of creeks and springs that millions of people rely on for drinking water, and thousands of acres of ancient forest—including the Southwest's largest unprotected old-growth ponderosa pine forest. Tribes in the area, especially the Navajo, Havasupai, Hualapai, and Hopi, have come together to help protect this region they hold sacred. But this natural and cultural treasure faces threats on many fronts, including unsafe uranium mining and devastating logging practices.
Tell President Obama to protect these lands and designate the Greater Grand Canyon Heritage National Monument.<http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=cc836df1271618c285a8ab282e4f7b737a0b2617656e78a073492620b3b9a42685a7a1bd005aeb2b>
