I have exciting news. Right now women's rights champions in Congress are
calling for elimination of the "Hyde Amendment," a discriminatory policy
that blocks coverage of abortion care for tens of millions of women,
putting their health and well being at risk.

For far too long, lawmakers have used budget riders, like the Hyde
Amendment, to play politics with women's health. Year after year, they
have inserted clauses into the federal budget prohibiting federally funded
health insurers -- Medicaid, Medicare, federal employees' health plans and
more -- from covering abortions except in cases of rape, incest or life
endangerment. This outrageous denial of basic health care coverage must
stop now!

One in three women will have an abortion by the age of 45. Insurance
coverage for this common and necessary aspect of reproductive health care
is essential. According to a recent study, a woman who seeks but is denied
abortion care is three times more likely to fall into poverty than a woman
who is able to get the care she needs.

If you believe, as I do, that every woman's health insurance policy must
cover the full spectrum of reproductive health care, including abortion,
