Americans for Peace Now is the U.S. partner organization of the Israeli
peace group Peace Now (Shalom Achshav), the largest, most mainstream peace
group in Israel.

Because of its relationship with Peace Now, APN is accepted and respected
in the organized American Jewish community. Even those who may disagree
with APN on a particular issue will usually concede that APN's advocacy for
a two-state, negotiated resolution to the Israel-Palestine conflict has
been principled and consistent. APN is also widely respected on Capitol
Hill, especially among progressive Democrats.

When you sign the APN petition, it will be automatically delivered to your
representatives in Congress. This will show your representatives that they
have your support in speaking up for increased U.S. pressure to bring about
diplomatic resolutions to the conflict.

At the end of October, Israeli and Palestinian representatives are expected
to meet again in Cairo to discuss ending the blockade on Gaza's civilians
and addressing Israeli security concerns about Gaza. UN Secretary General
Ban Ki-moon has called for ending the blockade now with a diplomatic
agreement that addresses Israel's legitimate security concerns. Three
Members of Congress - Keith Ellison, Barbara Lee, and Danny Davis - have
recently spoken out for ending the blockade of Gaza now through a
diplomatic agreement. By showing your representatives in Congress that you
support vigorous U.S. pressure to bring about diplomatic solutions, you can
help make diplomatic solutions more likely.
