Dear armchair activists,
Please copy and send this letter with your name and address to
Congressman Jared Huffman today.

to
Jared Huffman,Congressman,

The Honorable Congressman Huffman;

According to the Bank of International Settlements, the global derivatives
market is now $1.2 Quadrillion, or $1200 Trillion.

This is a huge ponzi scheme creating a very unstable economy worldwide
because the banks mentioned below are multinational.

The madness of the megabanks must be reined in now. You must know that
derivatives are bets on financial transactions.

Did you know that J.P. Morgan Chase bank assets are only $1.8 Trillion, and
their exposure in derivatives is $69 Trillion?

Bank of America has total assets of $1.4 trillion and is exposed in $44
Trillion in derivatives.

And Goldman Sachs with assets of $114 Billion is exposed to more than $41
Trillion.

There is no money in those banks to cover the bets, but still they are
making profits off the debt those transactions generate.

The above named banks played a pivotal role in creating the 2008 food
shortages around the planet as well as the housing crash.

In this betting madnesshese banks and investors are using supercomputers
which increase thounsands of trades

in miliseconds. The only way to slow down this madness is to to pass a
tax on derivatives- the Robin Hood tax.

As shown in the Sen. Harkin and Rep-De Fazio bill they estimate with a
0.5% tax on speculative transactions on Wall Street

would bring in about $350 Billion a year. Justly, this is the responsible
way to repair the disasters caused by these banks to our economy.

We urge you to co-sponsor the tax on speculative transaction-the Robin
Hood tax before the next Big Worldwide Crash.

several countries in Europe are legislating taxes on financial
transaction, including France.

Make banks pay their fare share of taxes.

Sincerely,
