My friend Frank contacted UCS re Edge of Science post:

Here are a couple of websites that have lots of information on Fukushima radiation in the Pacific, and much more as well.

Our senior nuclear physicist, Dr. Edwin Lyman, wrote the following in response to the many inquiries at the UCS Facebook page:

“Studies show that the radioactive marine emissions from Fukushima will reach the west coast of the continental U.S. before they reach Hawaii because Hawaii is south of the principal currents that are transporting the plume across the Pacific.  The studies show that the plume will boomerang off the west coast and then head back toward Hawaii, with peak concentrations sometime in 2014.  But in all cases these still represent very low levels of radioactive contamination so I don’t expect there would be a significant health risk from swimming either off the west coast or in Hawaii as a result of the emissions from Fukushima.  (I haven’t done the calculation, but I would guess that drowning or even a shark attack are probably bigger risks!)
“I just came across this post, which is very close to my own assessment:

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
