Subject: [Opcsteering] tell the BLM to keep moratorium on fracking on federal lands within California
Dear folks,
Responding to our lawsuit a judge ruled that it was unlawful to lease California's public land for oil development without first considering the risks of fracking. Shortly after the Bureau of Land Management halted all new federal oil lease sales in California for the remainder of the fiscal year.
Now, also in response to our lawsuit, the BLM has launched a new environmental analysis of fracking in California. This will be the first-ever statewide analysis of the threats from fracking in our state.
We need to make sure that the current moratorium on new oil leases for California's public lands stays in place while these important studies are completed.
Please take action now to tell the BLM not to allow new oil leases on California's public lands.
Go here to take action and get more information.
